We did not look at price, and we did not count how many numbers each service claims to stock. Only delivery. We pulled the figures from each platform’s own public API across 75 countries and 106 apps, and one service came out ahead on almost every comparison.

An SMS activation service rents you a phone number for a few minutes so you can receive a one-time verification code: for WhatsApp, Telegram, a Google account, a marketplace signup, and so on. You pick a country and an app, the service gives you a number, and you wait for the SMS.
SMS activation, SMS activator, receive-SMS: the same tool under different names
You will see the same product called an “SMS activation service,” an “SMS activator,” a “virtual number for verification,” or a “receive-SMS site.” They all do the same job: give you a temporary phone number that receives a text so you can finish a signup or verification. Some, like 7sim free numbers and online-sim.org, are free; others rent you a private number for a few minutes. What matters is not the name. It is which countries and apps a service covers, and whether the code shows up.
The one number that separates the top services: SMS delivery success rate
Every service advertises low prices and big number counts. Almost none of them lead with the figure that decides whether you get what you paid for: the delivery success rate, the share of orders where the verification code actually arrives. A number is worthless if the SMS never lands.
What you actually want is a specific app, in a specific country, on a specific platform, where the code reliably arrives at least 85% of the time. Five more services publish a figure we could not rank on the same scale. PVAPins and VerifyWithSMS report a success rate but overlapped on fewer than ten comparable combinations; 5sim, SMSPool and NumberOTP report over their own windows or scales. All of them are in the method section below. None were dropped quietly.
Read this the right way. Every figure here is a platform’s own reported delivery number on the apps and countries where they overlap. We never turned a low reading into “platform X delivers 0%.” Where a rival reports low, that is its own number talking. Coverage versus signal: why some platforms’ numbers don’t mean much
A high headline rate on a handful of orders is not a signal. Two things pull competitor numbers around. Some platforms report over a very short recent window, so a slow day reads as near-zero. Others report a single site-wide figure that barely moves. That is why we did not simply average advertised percentages. We fixed one list, required a real sample, and compared like for like. The method is next, in full.
How we tested SMS delivery: each platform’s own API, no marketing claims
Everything above comes from data each platform publishes about itself. We did not survey users and we did not estimate. We read the delivery figures straight from the sources and adjusted them so they line up. Here is exactly how, platform by platform, so anyone can reproduce it.
We pulled delivery data from each platform’s own public API, not its homepage
Each service exposes the number differently, and the work was in finding it and reading it correctly.
- SV Number returns a delivery percent per app and country from a dedicated statistics method on its public API.
- GrizzlySMS does not expose this number in its API docs, so we read it out of the front-end price API that powers its pricing page, where each provider group carries a delivery field.
- Tiger SMS returns a delivery percent per app and country from a providers method, wrapped in HTML we had to strip before parsing.
- 5sim returns a delivery rate plus per-window rates from its guest price endpoint; we used the overall rate and dropped windows with too little volume.
- PVAPins returns a success rate per app and country from a public catalog endpoint.
- VerifyWithSMS exposes a per-country success rate through the internal endpoint behind its statistics widget.
- SMSPVA publishes an opaque 0-3 conversion code per app, which we decoded against a separate services list to make it readable.
- Where the API gave nothing, we looked for a stats page on the site itself. That is how GrizzlySMS entered the comparison at all.
Only 9 of the 30 services we checked publish any delivery number
We started with 30 of the most-searched SMS activation services. Only nine publish any delivery or quality figure at all. The other two-thirds show you price and stock, and nothing about whether the code arrives. Of those nine, six report a delivery percentage we can compare directly; the rest use their own scales. Publishing this number at all is already a signal. A service that hides its delivery rate is asking you to find out the hard way.
Why we don’t just average the percentages: the traps we removed
Averaging advertised rates would produce a clean, wrong ranking. Three controls kept the data honest.
- We dropped numbers that barely change. Some platforms report the same figure (a flat 100%, or a fixed quality score) for the large majority of apps and countries. A figure that never changes is not a measurement, so those platforms sit in context, not in the ranking.
- We required a real sample. Any competitor value backed by too few orders was excluded. A 100% built on three attempts is noise.
- Zero at live stock means “no observations,” not “0% delivery.” When a platform showed no data while numbers were in stock, we treated it as missing, never as a failed delivery.
We compared like for like: same app, same country, same list of 20
Every platform was measured on the same fixed list of popular apps and countries, under identical conditions, with no cherry-picking who covers what. Country and app codes were mapped to one shared reference so a row means the same thing everywhere; anything we could not map with confidence was dropped rather than guessed. Inside a platform, when several providers served the same app and country, we combined them weighted by volume.
What this data does not show
Honest limits, because the number is only as good as its caveats.
- Each platform measures over its own time window, and most do not publish that window. So the figures are directionally comparable, not accurate to the decimal.
- Every rate here is self-reported by the platform. We adjusted the scales; we did not independently place orders on all of them.
- The three ranked platforms share one delivery number, so they compare cleanly. Others, like 5sim, report over short windows or on their own scale, so treat any gap between different scales as a direction, not an exact margin.
- Data reflects July 2026. Delivery shifts with carrier and anti-fraud policy, so we refresh this quarterly.

Averages hide the thing you actually care about: your app, in your country. Here is how delivery moves app by app, in the like-for-like comparison.
WhatsApp: delivery swings from single digits to 100% by country
WhatsApp is the hardest mainstream app to deliver, because its anti-fraud checks are aggressive. In our test, WhatsApp codes in Colombia arrived 50% of the time on SV Number, against 7% on GrizzlySMS and 13% on Tiger. In the Philippines everyone struggled, and 14% was the best result anyone posted. For WhatsApp, do not trust any site-wide average. Check the exact country before you pay.
Telegram delivery by platform and country
Telegram is usually easy to verify, with one big exception: virtual US numbers. On a virtual US number, Telegram delivery collapses for everyone, down to somewhere between 2% and 15% in our data, because Telegram treats that range as high risk. On real-country numbers it is far better. If you need Telegram, pick a country that works, not a US virtual number.
Google, Facebook, Instagram, Apple and Amazon: where codes actually arrive
These are the apps and countries where the gap between platforms is widest, and where SV Number’s lead is clearest.
- Apple delivered at 100% in Germany and Poland on SV Number, versus 16% and single digits elsewhere. Apple ID codes are picky about number quality, so the gap here is large.
- Amazon hit 100% in Argentina, Latvia and Denmark on SV Number; the same countries sat between 8% and 54% on the competition.
- Facebook delivered at 100% in Thailand and 62% in Poland, against roughly 10% on the other two services.
- Google and Gmail delivered at 46% in Vietnam versus 2% to 4% elsewhere; Poland was a close three-way race near 30% to 38%.
- Instagram in Portugal was one of the few cases where a rival (Tiger, at 45%) came close to SV Number at 50%.
Delivery success by country
Highest- and lowest-delivery countries in our dataset
Some countries deliver almost every code; others fight you regardless of platform. On the high end, Germany, Argentina, Latvia, Denmark, Greece and Thailand produced 100% delivery on multiple mainstream apps in our data. On the low end, virtual US numbers and a few smaller markets like Slovakia dragged every platform down. The pattern tracks carrier policy and how hard an app’s anti-fraud treats a given country’s number range, not the platform’s marketing.
Apps and countries where every platform struggles (shared blind spots)
Being honest about the losses is part of a useful test. Some apps and countries are hard for everyone.
- Telegram on virtual US numbers, where nobody clears 15%.
- Facebook × Slovakia, in the low teens at best across the board.
- X (Twitter) × UK, under 20% everywhere we measured.

It is the share of orders on a given app and country where the verification code is actually received. A platform typically computes it as delivered codes divided by attempts over a recent time window, per app and country.
Why is delivery 100% in one country and 10% in a neighbouring one?
Because delivery depends on the local carrier and on how the target app’s anti-fraud treats that country’s number ranges. Two neighbours can sit on opposite sides of an app’s risk rules, so the same platform delivers perfectly in one and barely in the other.
Virtual or real number: which is more reliable for SMS?
